Entry Requirements

To be eligible for the KFBTC program, candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications and criteria.

Academic Qualifications:
Candidates must have completed at least a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in relevant science subjects.

Preferred disciplines include Pharmacy, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Physiology, Immunology, and Chemistry.

Disciplinary Focus:
Based on the workforce needs identified by the Africa CDC/PAVM, the program will enroll students in specific tracks related to vaccine manufacturing and research & development (R&D).

Tracks include Immunology, Protein Expression, R&D Regulatory, Tech-Transfer, GMP Manufacturing, Regulatory Affairs, and Engineering.

Distribution of Candidates:
In alignment with the guidance from PAVM – Africa CDC, the program aims to enroll 60% of candidates for manufacturing roles and 40% for R&D roles.

This distribution ensures that the workforce is adequately prepared to meet the demands of both production and innovation in the biomanufacturing sector.
